Credentials

  • LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor
  • NCC - National Certified Counselor
  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Zachary specializes in working with teens, young adults, and men’s issues. He completed a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University, as well as a master’s in Human and Sport Performance. During his time at Adler University, he interned as a bereavement counselor at Lightways Hospice as well as a sport performance consultant at North Central College. Zachary also received his bachelor’s from Ripon College with a self-designed major in Sports Psychology.

Working with teens and transitioning young adults is Zachary’s passion. He knows that middle school, high school, and college are more challenging to navigate than ever before with the list of potential issues including substance use, bullying, peer drama, social media, being a student-athlete, or simply just being a student. Zachary understands the difficulty of addressing personal issues or traumas and tries to create an environment for the client to feel safe to explore their emotions.

Zachary enjoys having “real” talks with his teens using humor and straightforward, honest communication. This allows him to create meaningful connections that enable clients to dive into what is on their mind.

Zachary’s Thoughts on Counseling:

His approach to counseling is to truly get to know and understand who his clients are in an open environment.  Zachary uses genuine and honest conversations without judgment to develop a full connection. He values humor, transparency, honesty, self-awareness, and humility in his interactions. Above all, he strives to understand his clients’ strengths so he knows where to build from and how to best look forward to good health and happiness.
