Zachary specializes in working with teens, young adults, and men’s issues. He completed a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University, as well as a Masters in Human and Sport Performance. He also received his Bachelors from Ripon College with a self-designed major in Sports Psychology.
His approach to counseling is truly getting to know and understand who his clients are in an open environment. He uses genuine and honest conversations without any judgment to fully connect. He values humor, transparency, honesty, and self-awareness in his interactions. He wants to know what his client’s strengths are and bringing their strengths forward to build off of.
Zachary loves working with teens and transitioning young adults. Middle school and high school can be very challenging for many to navigate these days. Challenges like substance use, bullying, peer drama, social media, being a student-athlete, or simply just being a student. He enjoys having “real” talks with his teens using humor and straightforward, honest communication to create a meaningful connection that allows them to dive into what is on their mind and struggling with.
He also specializes in men’s issues. There are challenges that arise because the landscape for men is ever-shifting. He wants to use counseling to help the client build up and move forward towards a healthy and wholesome lifestyle.
He also specializes in human and sport performance and is currently working towards his Certified Mental Performance Consultant certification. The mental side of sport and performance can be just as important to train as the physical side of it. He wants to help athletes through issues such as performance anxiety, injury and recovery from injury, team communication, being a student-athlete, burnout, and more. He has previously interned at North Central College in Naperville providing mental skills training to its athletes and teams. He is a former Division III cross country and track athlete and has personally encountered many of its challenges.
Zachary grew up in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago and currently lives in Plainfield. He hopes to call the Northwest suburbs his home soon. He enjoys watching and participating in all sports, especially hockey.
