Sleep problems are extremely common in children and adults with ADHD with 50–80% of people reporting chronic sleep difficulties.

3 Reasons Why It Matters?

  1.  It can cause racing thoughts at bedtime, even when feeling tired, or cause hyper-focus at night, feeling alert and losing track of time so the person stays up way too late into the night.

  2. Poor sleep worsens emotional regulation, impulsivity and executive functioning for the next day.

  3. It is very disruptive for parents and family life who are trying to get their child or student in bed to be ready the next day.
