Anne Hoerer, MA, LPC

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” - Nelson Mandela

Anne Hoerer received her master’s in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2009. Since then, she has worked in residential care, school settings, and private practice.  This has allowed her to work with clients from all age groups as well as those suffering from a wide range of mental health challenges. Anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, OCD and related disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and substance use disorder are just a few of the conditions she’s treated.

Anne considers her greatest title to be that of mother to her five children and two pups. She has extensive experience working with children and strongly believes in the importance of communication between a child’s counselor and caretaker.

Anne’s Thoughts on Counseling:

Anne firmly believes that–just as each person and their story are unique–so too should each individual’s experience with therapy. Counseling should be a collaborative process between counselor and client. Life is not linear, nor is the process of therapy.

According to Anne, there is great validity in each small step we take, including in the steps backward we may take. Each new day provides the opportunity to achieve the impossible and to reshape our thinking as to who we can be and what we deserve.
